birthdays at sticky.

After a hiatus, I’ve managed to find my way back onto the Sticky Art Lab team! Way back when I first started my handmade business Feed the Fish co, I popped up at a winter market (in 2011!). Since then I’ve been on and off a part of Sticky – I celebrated my first 5 years in business and hosted some colorful events – and now I’m on regular birthday duty as a party instructor and I am loving this ease back into being regularly creative!

Birthdays at Sticky are so cute! They begin with a birthday celebrant interest consultation and we suggest a few ideas for projects. They are usually colorful, adorable, and magical!

Pending on the size of the party and the age group, we set up individual stations or a ‘buffet’ of craft supplies. They usually include pompoms, feathers, beads, and colorful paper.

So far I’ve helped with a number of toilet paper roll people and animals, doll making, friendship bracelets, and felt succulent gardens.

If we don’t already have a sample, I help create one before the party. And I’ll often also create another project alongside the party goers so I can demonstrate each step as they create. My favorite project so far are these felt dolls complete with custom outfit!
