deco cream.

Throwback to when my friend and I tried deco cream! We went to iFun in Japantown, San Francisco. The shop is full of colorful toys, bags, and accessories; and there’s a DIY deco cream station inside.

What’s included

You pay per piece and the experience comes with two deco cream colors of your choice and unlimited charms to fill your piece. If you pick an item that has multiple sides, there may a limit to how many sides you can cover, but you can always buy up. You can also pay extra to use additional deco cream colors.

The experience

There is wall of deco cream to choose from, bins of charms, and lots of blank items to decorate – jewelry boxes, phone cases, picture frames…. My friend and I both picked hand mirrors. Staff will provide a tutorial if you need it and are happy to assist! When you’re done, you can leave it in the store while you walk around Japantown. (Note: It takes 5-7 days to dry and cure.)

Our projects

My friend fully embodied the deco cream experience in her piece, saying yes to each charm that caught her interest. It took me a while to commit to theme, colors, and placement; I was caught up in functionality. But in the end I love how my piece turned out!

If I ever do this again I’d go in with more of an idea or theme, and then throw it out the window when I see the available colors and charms. 🙂

Have you ever DIY’ed with deco cream? What’s your fave thing to make?
