cracker box character.

The 6-7 year old K-Pop Demon Hunters constituency showed up to a Sticky Art Lab birthday and made cracker box Derpy tigers! At the time I had no idea who the character was but I thought it was so cute, and couldn’t wait to see how the kids would add their own spin on the character.

To create your own you will need the below or similar items:

  • A small box (cracker boxes work well)
  • Painters tape, in colors of choice
  • Construction paper or paint, in colors of choice
  • Glue stick
  • Markers or paint, in colors of choice
  • 1 brad
  • Chenille stems, in colors of choice
  • Scissors
  • Awl or other poking tool

Cut the box in half. With one half, ensure the flaps are sealed (can use tape to secure). Cut out a rectangle at the base opening on each side of the body – this will form legs. With the other half of the box cut out a tiger head.

Cover the body and head with construction paper or paint. Use markers, paint, construction paper, or tape to create facial features and stripes.

To make a movable head poke a hole at the head base and “front” of the body, place a brad through the head and body, and secure. To add a tail, poke a hole at the tail end of the body. Twist chenille stems together and insert. Secure by bending the chenille stem on the inside of the body; you can also add tape to secure.

This Derby crew turned out so cute! And I’m happy to report that I finally watched K-Pop Demon Hunters this week and understand the Derpy hype.
