It’s always birthday season at Sticky Art Lab, and it’s always colorful, messy (in the best way), and filled with delight! Today, I’m teaching my first birthday class of the year so I thought it fitting to share a recap of the awesomeness that was 2024 birthdays at Sticky. I co-taught 13 parties last year – a baker’s dozen of parties! Let’s reminisce.
Castles and Paper Roll Puppets
All projects are custom designed for the birthday celebrant, and depending on the age group and project, we might pre-cut some components, like castle templates.

Felt and Fabric Dolls
For our older kids we can do more complex sewing projects!

Creatures and Habitats
Many of our projects as you can see involve toilet paper rolls.

Painted Scenes
But we also do painting projects!

Gymnastics Characters
Oh, more toilet paper rolls. 🙂

Bugs and Habitats
For every birthday we create a special example craft – I enjoyed making these bugs!

Characters and Cars
We do STEM, too!

Automata
I’m always impressed by the automata craft!

Ocean Scenes
Some under-the-sea framed art. This was a grown-up favorite because they could easily hang the project in their kid’s room.

Spooky Bats and Bat Caves
More toilet paper roll crafts! I loved the added addition of hanging the bats upside down in their caves.

Unicorn Friends
Working with kids is so inspiring because they come up with so many different ideas based on a single artistic prompt. Look at all these unicorns!

I can’t wait to see what creative ideas the 2025 celebrants will dream up! PS I want to manifest getting some grown ups celebrating their birthdays at Sticky, too. Get in touch if that grown up is you!
