awreatha.

I participated in the annual SF Etsy Indie Holiday Emporium in a big way! Not only did I have a booth to sell all my Feed the Fish co felt goodies, I also created a 4.5ish-foot felt flower wreath for the photobooth centerpiece! Her name is Awreatha (had to). Here’s my show recap plus the Awreatha creation story! The show. The SF Etsy Indie Holiday Emporium is always held over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Since I’ve been participating for a few years now, it always feels like a craft fam reunion! It’s an all volunteer-run event, mostly put on by these two above (snapped this shot because it looked like they were going to report on something real important!). The show is free to attend but if you get special VIP shopping hour tickets you also get swag bags filled with fun Etsy stuff! (The maker oath design is by my friend Angie of Bobo Design Studio!) And in addition to shopping small, there are activity stations for all. This year there was face painting, …

block party.

I was invited to lead a Make & Take station at the SF Block Party hosted by Civic Center Commons in partnership with my SF Etsy team! This was the first in their series of 1st Sunday block parties for the summer, and it was a special one because the Women’s World Cup Finals were happening (and they had a watch party near City Hall). I set up shop. Bonus – event staff set up all the tents for us. Easy breezy. I brought some sports pennants for the sporty occasion, plus surprise bags, flower crowns, more pennants, and wall hangings. Today’s best sellers: flower crowns and surprise bags! And here’s the Make & Take set-up: a paper pennant DIY to celebrate the sports – and a win for Team USA. There were also street soccer matches, games, food trucks, and music. Plus the farmers market across the street. The DIY was super popular and both little kids and big kids enjoyed creating flags. And since SF Etsy curated the vendors for the event, I …

pop goes the etsy.

The San Francisco Etsy street team strikes again! This time, setting up a pop-up at Ghirardelli Square for the entire summer! Participating vendors set up a 3-foot by 2-foot space. I found the perfect display for my pennants — a flower pot holder! SF Etsy is all volunteer run, so we were each asked to volunteer a shift during the pop-up. For opening weekend I signed up to be a “Traffic Attractor,” tasked to get people to come inside and shop local. I made a giant pennant for the occasion, plus some neon arrows. So much good stuff in the market! Vendors rotated in and out over the weeks so the market was ever-changing. For one of the market days I got to teach a mini felt succulent workshop upstairs. And I got to set up an additional pop-up display. Loving this tiny set-up. A huge THANK YOU to the coordinators – Rebecca, Stephanie, Krys, and Debbie – and to my team members for volunteering many hours and so much energy to put on this …
