favor.

Favor in Berkeley is filled with colorful jewelry, treats, and gift items for all your fun friends! I visited last month during peak Christmas shopping times so they also had a great assortment of ornaments, too. There’s something to look at everywhere you turn. Take your time because there are some hidden gems – like felted mushroom garlands! And kitten zippered pouches and balloon animal ornaments! And appropriately inappropriate bracelets. And tequila necklaces. What a fun visit! The owner even treated us to bon bons and I went home with a mushroom garland. Have you visited Favor? Share your favorite gift shops below!

shop feature: scribble me happy.

Come peek inside Scribble Me Happy – the most colorfully cute shop and studio space in San Mateo. And maybe I’m a little biased because I have some Feed the Fish co products in store and also teach a workshop here on occasion, but you can’t deny it – it’s totally fun inside! Feed the Fish co pennants! There’s something for small and big kids alike. They carry locally made handcrafted goods in their shop and the owners Brenda and Stacie make a line of Scribble Me Happy goods, too. The giant feather is quite the show stopper! In the back, they hold events – like pop-up shops, workshops, art camps, and private parties. Who wouldn’t want to have an event here! There’s always a fun backdrop for picture taking, too. On my last visit — this sparkly aqua number. Where do you like to find handmade goodies? Share below!

shop feature: oh hello friend.

I love me some shopping time, especially when it’s at a cute little shop. On a recent visit to SoCal I stopped at Oh Hello Friend in Fullerton to get my dose of oh-my-gosh-I-want-everything-but-I-will-just-look feels! From housewares to party goods, clothing to stationary, Oh Hello Friend could potential provide me with hours of entertainment. And as a maker, I was inspired by all of the display items. They also have a space for workshops which is decked out with lovely decor. There wasn’t a workshop on the day of my visit, but they had some leftover flowers from an event and I got make and take a mini floral bouquet. I left with some fun cards (I love making cards, but I love buying them, too! And PS, they have a frequent buyer card stamp program.), my mini bouquet from the floral bar, and loads of inspiration and feel goods. I will definitely find my way back here again one day.
