Well, this DIY is the ultimate throwback to my 90s childhood and I’m super excited I get to share the crafty love as an instructor at Blue Door Beads. So…this pizza party happened, per the request of the fabulous Lucia Dill! It. Was. Fabulous. I didn’t realize how much pizza love there was out there. It’s everywhere! Pizza shirts, pizza puns, pizza pillows… And now pizza pennants and clips! Here’s a perfect peek at the pizza prep and party! (P)alliteration! We adorned the walls with paper pizza garlands and had real life edible pizza because what’s a pizza party without pizza! Once fueled, we created! After crafting came pizza family portraits! Being a craft lady is a pretty fun gig, especially when your clients are just as crazy about crafting as you are! I recently hosted a DIY station for a lil lady’s Halloween themed birthday and it was the cutest! My client, the crafty Ms. Ethel, decked out her entire home with beautiful handmade delights– everything from the decor to the spooky treats had a handmade spin. I’m featuring her work today because she’s awesome and this is exactly the reason (ok, maybe not the only reason but a really great reason!) why I’m looking forward to having kids: epic crafty birthday parties! While the kids were busy decorating pumpkins and making paper plate ghosts, I got to snap a few pictures of all the handmade creations, and note that this is only a smidgen of all the details. Ethel said she spent all week creating, staying up into the wee hours of the night. (Hmm…that sounds familiar.) But all the hard work and late hours paid off because her home was beautifully and thoughtfully …
What better way to kick off the weekend than with a craft party Etsy style! What is an Etsy Craft Party, you say? Etsy Craft Party is a global celebration of meeting and making, held every year since 2010. This year’s theme was Kaleidoscope: Paper Taking Shape. Our local street team – SF Etsy – collaborated with Creative Live to host a fun-filled craft party for team members and the community. We made paper gems using these nifty templates printed on wall paper! Paper gems have been on my craft wish list for some time now. You can imagine how excited I was when I found out they were the project for the evening. Bling-bling! Imagine if we walked about with giant gemstone jewelry… Of course, there were treats, stickers, and goody bags… …and fun with friends, new and old.
