holiday crafternoon.

Let’s get into Mischief! Holiday Crafternoon at Mischief was a huge success. I wish we counted how many crafters came through to our DIY stations – that would have been good business stats. 😉 My friend Tally Sue and I set up two crafty stations in the studio space. She led the felt candy cane mouse craft and I led the paper ornament craft. It was a colorful mess! Carolers came, too! And Santa – I ran away. (Santa IRL is not my cup of tea.) Mischief also set up a hot cocoa bar for all. It’s super impressive to see a kid create a hot cocoa concoction and then consume it all. I mean, they put everything on there – whipped cream, sprinkles, hella marshmallows…. All. The. Toppings. Thank you to Mischief for always inviting me back for more crafty fun! beautiful beads.

Reporting from Blue Door Beads! This is my favorite bead store ever, and I’m one picky lady. Knowledgable and friendly staff, a large assortment of beads and findings, great lighting (makes for clear, creative thinking!), reserved customer parking (!!!), …. The list goes on and on for why I enjoy every visit here. I stumbled upon Blue Door Beads shortly after they first opened their doors in 2012. I had taken a pilates class down the street and discovered the bead store while walking from where I parked. I had to go inside after class! I was greeted by the owner, and little did I know she would make a point to learn my name. Talk about feeling at home… Owner Sara and her crew are curators of lovely things. My favorite beads are anything gold, copper, or blush colored; Czech glass; and jade variations like these dyed ones: I love making jewelry pieces that have a pop of color or that perfect bold accent bead. You can find all types of beads to work with here. Check …

crafty garage sale.

What’s better than discount prices on home goods at a garage sale? Discount prices on craft supplies at an arts & crafts garage sale! I know, mind blown. Over the weekend I visited Handcraft Studio School for their Craft & Art Supply Garage Sale. Studio instructors and collective members brought out their goods for an afternoon of rummaging delight. There were vintage books, unique buttons, colorful fabrics, and a whole lot of other random and unusual finds. These punches were very pleasing. My crafty friend and I spent a few minutes here testing out our favorites, and then purchasing them. I got a tree, just in time for Christmas…in ten months. Ha! Looking through the vintage findings selection trying to come up with a craft project to justify a purchase was just as fun as actually picking something out and buying it. I recently turned my walk-in closet into a craft “room” and have been gradually sorting and cleaning out my craft explosion. Going to one of these events is dangerous when you’re mid-sort! I did a …
